Potassium feldspar is a type of feldspar mineral normally containing potassium, aluminium and silicate. Its chemical formula is KAlSi3O8. It is of aluminosilicate family in which sodium and calcium feldspars are also present. They crystallize from magma and are found in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks.
